The Rachovi killifish (🔴🔵🟠🟡Nothobranchius rachovii) is an exquisite, annual killifish species requiring specialized husbandry. To mimic its natural habitat, an aquarium setup should include soft, slightly acidic water (pH 6.0–7.0), a temperature range of 22–25°C, fine sand substrate, and dense planting with subdued lighting. Peat moss or coconut fiber is recommended for egg-laying. A lid is essential, as the species is prone to jumping.

Males are territorial; thus, a trio (one male, two females) or species-only setup is advisable. Filtration should be gentle, and water changes must be regular to maintain excellent water quality. Feeding live or frozen foods such as daphnia, brine shrimp, and bloodworms is vital for vibrant coloration and health. Due to their short lifespan, careful planning of breeding cycles is crucial.
