Aqua Tapestry: The Nature Aquarium

It's been my dream to visit the ADA Nature Aquarium Gallery ever since I got into aquascaping. In addition to that, I've also wanted to make a video to show everyone how beautiful the gallery is and today, that dream came true. Seeing the master Takashi Amano's iwagumi layouts was the high point during this trip. I always saw pictures and videos of them but seeing it in person, you can really feel the power those stones give.

My name is Johnny Johnson and I've been aquascaping for just over 10 years. In the beginning of my journey, I was like most people starting out with small setups and fake decor in them. Not long after that I quickly learned about nature aquariums and the creator behind them Takashi Amano, who invented the planted aquarium. After admiring his works and reading everything I could about him, I quickly saw the world through Amanos eyes and loved the idea of bringing a piece of nature into our homes. Back in 2015 I decided I wanted to share my work with the world which led to me creating my YouTube Channel JJ Aquariums, which I still upload Weekly till this day. Through my YouTube I showed my journey through aquascaping as I got better and better with each setup I did. NATURE AQUARIUM GALLERY FACTS

Built-in 1994, the Aqua Design Amano headquarters in Niigata, Japan is a very special place. This is where Mr. Takashi Amano has opened the Nature Aquarium Gallery for the public in 2003. Hosting 40+ planted tanks (4 of which were created by Mr. Amano himself) and 54+ different layouts with plants – it radiates inspiration and power.

The standard tanks sizes vary from 10 liters (2.64 gal) through 60P, 120P and finally 180P (650 liters or 171 gal, 180x60x60cm) planted tanks, with some 180x120x60 cm (70.8 x 47.2 x 23.6 in) rectangular-base tanks. All gear in the Gallery is full ADA – with the SuperJet filters in the cabinets, ADA Solar RGB and ADA AquaSky lights above the tanks, and opti-white rimless glass tanks, wooden cabinets. The substrate system is ADA, with Power Sand and Aqua Soil clay-based substrates, decoration sands.
